Prof.Dr. M. K. Purushothama, presently serving as Professor and Principal of Ramaiah Institute of Business Studies, Bangalore. During 2020 – 2021, served as (i) Professor, Advisor and Research Supervisor at Amruth Institute of Engineering and Management Science (AIMS), Bidadi, Ramanagara District, and (ii) Professor and Head, Department of Management Dr. Sivakumara Maha Swamy Engineering College, Bangalore Rural District. During 1985-2020, served as Professor and Principal. He has been teaching over a period of four decades at different level (UG and PG). Served as Professor, Head and Director of the Department of Commerce and Management, Professor at Vivekananda Degree College. Born on 17th October 1960, Son of Master M K Kambaiah and Smt Venkatamma in Mudagere, a village in Ramanagara District of Karnataka. He has been credited with M.Com., MBA, MA in Distance Education, PGDDE, PGDHE, holding Doctorate Degree in Commerce from University of Mysore, and Doctor of Literature from International Open University Srilanak He has served as Coordinator of IGNOU Study center (1309/ 1309A) (1992 – 1998). He has the record of establishing the Sub - Study Center at Central Prison (1309A) Bangalore. This was an unique center and first of its kind in India. He has published more than 60 books, more than 100 articles, guided and supervised more than 1000 MBA projects, guiding more than 80 M.Phil and 32 Ph.D., candidates. He has successfully served as NSS Program Officer (1998-2002) and NSS Program Coordinator at Bangalore University (2002- 2005). To promote sense of service he has been delivering lectures on the Youth Empowerment, Environmental studies, HIV/AIDS Awareness, Social Service, Community living etc., Prof. Purushothama is the recipient of State, National and International Awards, to name a few, Award of Excellence in recognition of his commitment for education, research and selfless service, conferred by Texas A and M University, USA and UAS Bangalore. The Best NSS Program Officer conferred by J P University Bihar, Distinguished Social Scientist conferred by Vocal Tones Singapore and Bangalore University, Outstanding Teacher award by Federation of Karnataka Teachers Councils of Commerce and Management on 17th Oct 2003, Award of Appreciation for the commitment of International Service Learning Project from Singapore Environmental Council, Singapore and Red Cross Society, Indian Red Cross Society, Vocational Service Award from Rotary Club, Channapatana, Janapriya shikshaka award from Pathrakarthara Vedike Bangalore, Meritorious Award from Prof. H Shanke Gowda Educational Trust Bangalore.
