Dr. Shylaja presently serving as HOD and Assistant Professor in Department of Hindi. She has been credited with MA in Hindi and Ph.D. from Mysuru University Manasagangotri. She is an active member of Board of Studies (BOS) and Board of Examination (BOE) for NEP Syllabus. She has edited text books for BBA, BCA, BCOM and BA courses for Bengaluru City University and Bangalore University. She has set Question papers for the courses of BBA, BCA Bengaluru City University as well as for Bangalore University. She has guided Ph.D. and D.Litt. students. She also worked as an Examiner for M.Phil., and Ph.D. She has published various research papers at National and International conferences. She is a resource person and attended various Faculty Development Programs, Webinars, Seminars and Workshops. She has conducted contact coaching classes for Distance Education Students at KSOU. She is specialized in translation and successfully translated dictionary of Pali-Hindi-Kannada. She has worked as an ISO lead Auditor for BSCIC and has audited educational institutions like Surana College, Bhandari Jain College and SriKrishna Degree College. She also served as a Management representative for NAAC at Sri Krishna Degree College. She is highly involved in social work and presently she is working as a Founder President of MNV Eye Donor’s Association. She has conducted various eye donation awareness programs at various educational institutions and other social organizations. In these programs more than 25 thousands of people pledged their eyes. The family members of Kannada Cine Actress Jayanti, BNU Registrar Dr. Srinivas, and KSOU Ex VIce Chancellor Dr Angadi donated eyes. She is awarded as best teacher from Sri Krishna Degree College. She is accoladed with many awards which includes “Harish Nanjappa” award from Narayana Nethralaya for her contributions in the field of eye donation.
